Les Roches Students Shine at 17th World Maxibasketball Championship with Ticino 2025

Crans-Montana, Switzerland, 30th June 2025: Les Roches, a world-renowned institution in hospitality education and ranked No. 2 globally for Hospitality & Leisure Management in the QS World University Rankings 2025, proudly contributed to the success of the 17th World Maxibasketball Championship, held in Switzerland from 26 to 29 June 2025, through a dynamic educational partnership with Ticino 2025, the official organizer of the event.
A group of Master of Science in Sports Management and Events students from Les Roches campus in Crans-Montana were actively involved across key areas of the tournament, including guest hospitality, logistics, media operations, and VIP management. Their engagement reflected both the institution’s commitment to experiential learning and the global orientation of its academic programs.
Volunteering at the FIMBA Maxibasketball Championship 2025 in Ticino, one of the world’s largest sporting events with over 6,000 athletes aged 30 and above, has been an incredibly rewarding experience. Representing Les Roches, we had the opportunity to be part of the event operations and take on the role of match officials. The experience pushed us to stay flexible, work as a team, and stay composed under pressure. It was a true glimpse into the fast-paced and dynamic world of sports management.
This was an exceptional opportunity for our students to apply their skills in a real-world context and contribute to a high-profile international sporting event. Their professionalism, passion, and adaptability were truly commendable.
The collaboration with Ticino 2025 offered students valuable exposure to event execution, stakeholder coordination, and international sporting culture, reinforcing Les Roches’ position as a leading educational institution in hospitality, experience, and sports event management.
Partnering with Les Roches brought real added value to our event. The students not only provided outstanding support but brought with them a high level of enthusiasm, professionalism, and insight. It was a pleasure to work with such a dedicated and well-prepared team.
Looking ahead, Les Roches continues to expand its academic offering in the sports sector, with the launch of a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Sports Business Management in September 2025, supporting to growing industry demand for leaders with cross-disciplinary expertise in business, hospitality, and sports.
