Les Roches Expands Electric Car Sharing Program for Sustainable Education
- Les Roches
Crans-Montana, September 5th, 2023 - Les Roches is proud to announce the extension of its commitment to sustainable mobility with the introduction of an electric car sharing system for students and staff at its Crans-Montana campus. Building upon the successful launch of this initiative at its Marbella campus in May 2022, Les Roches takes another significant step in its environmental journey by bringing electric car sharing to its Swiss campus.
Carlos Díez de la Lastra, CEO of Les Roches, underlines the institution's pioneering role in sustainability, stating, "At Les Roches, we are resolute in our dedication to pioneering sustainable education. The expansion of our electric car fleet initiative is a tangible reflection of our commitment to integrating innovation, luxury, and environmental responsibility."
Under the visionary leadership of Carlos Díez de la Lastra, the institution embraces a transformative ethos encapsulated in its rebranding as "A bespoke experience to educate tomorrow's leaders in hospitality." This rebranding highlights the four essential pillars of its unique approach: a community mindset, immersive resort experience, professional excellence, and sustainable practices.
The introduction of the electric car fleet seamlessly aligns with these core pillars.
"Our objective is to foster a community mindset that exemplifies our dedication to sustainability. The electric car-sharing initiative exemplifies our commitment to uniting students, faculty, and staff in a shared environmental responsibility."
By introducing a luxury car-sharing scheme exclusively for its community and committing to the use of 100% premium and 100% electric vehicles, the institution is setting a remarkable precedent for sustainability within the education sector.
The campus has selected 6 Tesla Model Y and 4 BMW iX50 for this initiative. Giovanni Odaglia, Dean of Students, explains, "We meticulously chose the Tesla Model Y and the BMW iX50. These top-of-the-line electric vehicles offer students an ideal transportation experience while contributing to their reduced carbon footprint."
Les Roches Crans-Montana has partnered with Activacar to implement this car-sharing system. Giovanni Odaglia underscores the significance of this collaboration, which has already proven successful in Marbella: "Our partnership with Activacar underscores our commitment to sustainable innovation. Together, we are setting an exemplary standard for sustainable education."
To access the service for the first time, users must register their details through a mobile application, after which the initial hour of hire is complimentary. Once registered, students and staff can access an available car within seconds via the smartphone app, making the smartphone the central hub for this service.
The choice of larger vehicles enables national and international travel, facilitating weekend and holiday trips, thereby enhancing the overall campus experience.
Through these initiatives, the institution reaffirms its commitment to training a new generation of leaders who embody both excellence and environmental responsibility.
